Unique position at the EUROSATORY 2016

KNOTT has earned itself something of a reputation when it comes to developing and producing customized products for specific fields of application. This came doubly into focus at the EUROSATORY.

“Firstly, we were the only brake manufacturer represented with their own dedicated stand”, says Richard Hamberger, responsible for application
engineering and sales. “In addition, we were able to identify brake components from KNOTT in around two-thirds of the wheeled vehicles
exhibited at the show.”

Two facts which speak for themselves – and for KNOTT’s engineering expertise. On the company’s own stand, the focus was naturally on its latest products for military applications – such as the spring applied sliding caliper FSG 110 with automatic wear adjuster or the hydraulic fixed caliper HFS 4×70.

Powerful brakes for restricted space conditions

“The HFS 4×70 is currently the biggest possible brake on the market which can be mounted in 20 inch rims – and these are currently standard in the military sector”, explains Hamberger.

Where KNOTT scores is naturally with its enormous fund of experience in the field of brakes for off-highway application. “Our brake solutions for this sector are fundamentally protected against dust, mud, dirt and water”, says Hamberger. “In addition, we naturally also engineer customized solutions for wide-ranging fields of application. From salvage cranes to troop carriers – right through to top secret classified vehicles we aren’t able to talk about.”
This much we can divulge: KNOTT brakes are to be found in vehicles from KMW Krauss-Maffei Wegmann, and also at General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS), as well as BAE or Renault, to name just some of the biggest.
